Based on WRHI’s design brief a new user interface was designed. It was developed keeping in mind their inherent problem of low user adaptation. Thus the navigation had to be intuitive; and the look and feel had be accommodative of user preferences. Upon approval of design a new solution was developed for deployment which included branding files such as master pages, CSS and JS files.

Apart from branding WRHI wanted functionalities like Weather, Latest News, Events Calendars, and time zone widgets to be displayed on the Home page.

Weather functionality had to display weather report of their HQ City by default, while it could be changed for other cities by the users as required.

The Latest News would have organizational news feed for its employees. This data would be fetched from a SharePoint list, which would be updated by the WRHI IT Team.

WRHI wanted their employees to be aware about various events happening with in the organization across various locations. A custom visual web part was developed which would display these events. Along with this the employees were also provided with a functionality to add their events to the calendar.

These new functionalities were developed as the custom visual web parts and configured to the home page as one-click deployment custom solution along with branding.

Post deployment statistics indicated high user adaptation for WRHI’s intranet portal.

They now had an effective platform for collaboration and communication within the organization.
